    TGS Baltic has successfully defended interests of a group of employees against Ryanair in the court of first instance

    10 former employees of Ryanair were unlawfully dismissed. The employer, in the course of transfer of a part of the business, did not offer the employees the same employment conditions with the new employer (the business assignee), but decided to dismiss employees due to excessive work functions. Employees, as flight attendants, were not given extended annual leave while working for Ryanair, either.

    TGS Baltic assisted OptiGroup with its acquisition by FSN Capital.

    On 18 December 2021, FSN Capital VI signed an agreement to acquire OptiGroup and the Dutch company Hygas to create a European Group in the business-to-business distribution industry. FSN Capital VI will be the leading shareholder in the combined Group, and OptiGroup’s current shareholders, Altor Fund II, Triton II Fund and RoosGruppen AB will remain as minority owners. The transaction is expected to be finalised in the first quarter of 2022 subject to customary statutory approvals. The parties have agreed not to disclose the details of the transaction.

    TGS Baltic's senior associates Martti Peetsalu and Silvia Urgas scored an important victory for the Estonian pharmaceutical company AS KEVELT in the Supreme Court.

    On 16 June 2021, the Supreme Court ruled in favour of AS KEVELT, a customer of TGS Baltic, holding that a consignor of temperature-sensitive goods such as medicines may assume that the carrier of the goods has a proper action plan for refrigeration equipment failure.

    TGS Baltic successfully represented LTG Infra in a litigation case concerning construction delay in the Rail Baltica project

    We advised LTG Infra, a subsidiary of Lietuvos Geležinkeliai, the largest railway group in the Baltic States, in a dispute between LTG Infra and the consortium of the German capital Estonian company Leonhard Weiss RTE, Hidrostatyba and Autokausta over a delay in the implementation of EUR 54.8 million contract on railway construction from Kaunas to Palemonas, signed in June 2018.

    TGS Baltic have successfully defended interests of Lietuvos geležinkeliai in a case of almost EUR 0.8 million

    TGS Baltic represented Lietuvos geležinkeliai and won in civil proceedings against  German insurance company Lampe & Schwartze. The German company claimed to award of almost EUR 0.8 million for preservation of a cargo ship “Venta” from its former owner Lietuvos jūrų laivininkystė (LJL). As a cargo ship was pledged to Lietuvos geležinkeliai, after LJL filed for bankruptcy, the German company claimed payment of the debt from Lietuvos geležinkeliai.

    G. Lampe & Schwartze K. G. filed an action for damages and invalidation of transactions, requesting to order the national shipping company, AB Lietuvos jūrų laivininkystė, that provided maritime cargo water transportation services, and AB Lietuvos geležinkeliai to pay damages jointly and severally in accordance with the agreement concluded by and between Lampe & Schwartze K. G. and AB Lietuvos jūrų laivininkystė.
