06.04.2023 Court dismissed the claim of Saaremaa Laevakompanii and Väinamere Liinid against Port of Tallinn subsidiaries

On 31 March 2023, Harju County Court dismissed the claim submitted by the bankruptcy administrator of AS Saaremaa Laevakompanii (SLK) (bankrupt) and Väinamere Liinid OÜ against the subsidiaries of Port of Tallinn.

In the claim, AS Saaremaa Laevakompanii (SLK) (bankrupt) and Väinamere Liinid demanded compensation for the alleged damage caused by the use of trade secrets in participating in the public procurement of passenger transport services on the Saaremaa and Hiiumaa ferry lines, totalling 23.8 million euros.

The court decision has not entered into force and can be appealed within 30 days of receiving the decision.

Port of Tallinn was represented in the dispute by Law Firm TGS Baltic senior partner Paul Varul, counsel Kedli Anvelt, and the team also included transportation law specialist partner Martti Peetsalu.
