Nord Security, the startup behind the leading VPN product, NordVPN, became the second Lithuanian unicorn after raising its first money, $100 million at a $1.6 billion valuation.

The investment comes from lead investor Novator, with support of Burda Principal Investments, General Catalyst, and angel investors, including Ilkka Paananen of Supercell, Miki Kuusi of Wolt and Matt Mullenweg of Automattic, as well as Baltcap. Started 10 years ago in Vilnius, the company now has 1700 employees, 50 YoY headcount growth and a footprint in 20 countries.

TGS Baltic advised the founders as strategic and legal advisor in all matters related to the transaction, including transaction structuring, negotiations of term sheet and investment documents, vendors’ due diligence and disclosure, as well as coordinated work of foreign counsel.
