In 2013 the claimants brought a claim against AB Lietuvos geležinkeliai before the court. The claimants claim that AB Lietuvos geležinkeliai should additional pay approximately EUR 7 million for additional works under the construction agreements for the reconstruction of the railway. AB Lietuvos geležinkeliai submitted a counterclaim claiming for EUR 14 million for the delayed works from the contractors. The third party in the dispute is construction engineers, DB International GmbH, which prepared all technical documentation for the reconstruction. The case is unique because large-scale disputes regarding railway construction or reconstruction are very rear in Lithuania. The technical project alone contains more than 10,000 pages of technical documentation, sketches, and schemes.
