The dispute revolved around the performance of fuel quality control and the courts agreed that the fuel supplied by Jetoil met the quality requirements.

The court case demonstrates that the validity of special agreements between parties largely depends on the area of activity in which they operate. In the transport sector, it is permissible for parties to agree on shorter notice periods for raising claims to ensure the normal functioning of the sector.

Court dismissed the claim of Saaremaa Laevakompanii and Väinamere Liinid against Port of Tallinn subsidiaries

On 31 March 2023, Harju County Court dismissed the claim submitted by the bankruptcy administrator of AS Saaremaa Laevakompanii (SLK) (bankrupt) and Väinamere Liinid OÜ against the subsidiaries of Port of Tallinn.

In Pärnu County Court, TGS Baltic senior associates Chirag Mody and Anet Jaks successfully represented a client who was ordered to refute alleged false statements and compensate for patrimonial and non-patrimonial damage. The court agreed with the explanations provided by the contractual representatives and dismissed the action filed against the client.

On 3 March, the Estonian Financial Supervision Authority granted Crowdestate AS a crowdfunding service provider activity license, which gives it the right to facilitate the granting of loans and to offer investment-based crowdfunding services.
