    Dr. Ieva Povilaitienė is a Partner with 20 years of legal practice. She has extensive experience in employment, corporate, M&A, IP law sectors and litigation. She advises on all day-to-day employment matters and also participates in advising well-known local and international clients such as Ignalina Nuclear Power Plant, Stora Enso Packaging, Mars, national radio and TV broadcaster LRT, Skandia, DS Smith Packaging, SBA (one of the largest Lithuanian concerns, whose activities cover four business areas – furniture, apparel, business centres, and investment management), PKN Orlen, Biotechpharma and others. It should be also noted that Ieva is included in the list of labour arbitrators and mediators.

    Ieva is a Doctor of Law (employment law). She is a co-author of the Social Model, part of which is the new Labour Code of Lithuania. Ieva is also the author of various international articles and publications on employment law. She lectures at the Department of Private Law (employment law), Vilnius University Faculty of Law.

      The TGS Baltic team successfully defended interests of one of the major financial institutions of Lithuania in the case started by former employee regarding settlement after dismissal. The amount claimed by the employee was over EUR 215 000.

      TGS Baltic has successfully defended interests of a group of employees against Ryanair in the court of first instance

      10 former employees of Ryanair were unlawfully dismissed. The employer, in the course of transfer of a part of the business, did not offer the employees the same employment conditions with the new employer (the business assignee), but decided to dismiss employees due to excessive work functions. Employees, as flight attendants, were not given extended annual leave while working for Ryanair, either.

      TGS represented the Ignalina Nuclear Power Plant

      TGS represented the Ignalina Nuclear Power Plant in its dispute with a former employee regarding imposing of a disciplinary sanction and dismissal. Our assistance included representation in the appellate court, evaluation of prospects of cassation, as well as preparation and submission of the appeal and cassation appeal. The case was unique due to the specifics of the sanction which could be applied in case of improper execution of working functions and duties by the managerial employee.

      TGS Baltic advices PKN Orlen

      The services included drafting of the memorandum regarding possible types of contracts to be signed with managing employees of the companies, belonging to Orlen group, in Lithuania, Latvia, and Estonia. After that, our law firm prepared several model employment contracts to be used with management in Lithuanian companies of the group. Also, our assistance covered the revision of an amendment to the Bonus System Regulation for the Management Board of Lithuanian companies.

      Was a member expert of the working group. Services covered preparation and coordination with competent state authorities and institutions of proposals for reducing national administrative burden on business triggered by information obligations of national origin entrenched in the legislation of priority areas established by the Government of the Republic of Lithuania, after the implementation of which the national administrative burden on business would be reduced at least by 30 (thirty) percent (hereinafter, the AB reduction proposals), and the assessment of the effect of the AB reduction proposals on national administrative burden on business in the priority areas.

      Provided legal services to a certain company in assessing the existing documentation and preparing draft documents on employment-related matters, including preparation of procedures of employee assessment, dismissal, and application of disciplinary measures to employees, job descriptions, the employment agreement with the manager, documents on structural changes, revision/assessment of the confidentiality agreement, documents on employees’ duty to declare any conflict of interests, consultations on introducing a new structure, drafting of documents on appointment (change) of members of management bodies.

      Provided legal assistance to one of the major Lithuanian manufacturers of carton packages in a dispute concerning the recovery of remuneration. Legal services also included representing the client in relationships with the claimant and in judicial proceedings.

      Drafted internal legal documents for the Lithuanian University of Health Sciences.
