      TGS Baltic team is continuously and extensively assisting AS TV Play Baltics (the biggest satellite TV service provider in the Baltic States) in interactions with regulatory authorities (mostly the Lithuanian Radio and Television Commission). The matters include discussions with the authorities on the nature of cross-border satellite TV services and regulation based on the EU legal framework.

      TGS Baltic assisted Modern Times Group (MTG) in launching innovative and modern video-on-demand service Viaplay

      TGS Baltic assisted MTG in launching innovative and modern video-on-demand service Viaplay. The launch was simultaneous in all the three Baltic States, a lot of coordination and team work was required in order to successfully meet the launch date and address all regulatory issues. It was the first of such type, subscription-based service in Lithuania, therefore a lot of issues had to be handled with regulatory authorities.

      TGS Baltic successfully defended the interests of TV Play in a five-year case

      TGS Baltic team obtained a precedent decision from the Supreme Administrative Court of Lithuania, as we successfully defended television production and project creation company TV Play against the Radio and Television Commission of Lithuania. The dispute between the parties arose due to the obligation of must carry which is imposed by the law.

      Participated in advising Mars Incorporated, the biggest food manufacturer in the world, for revising and amending standard agreements (supply, services, agency, etc.).

    • Advised Avon Products Inc.

      Advised Avon Products Inc. and its subsidiary UAB Avon Cosmetics, a producer of cosmetics and perfumery products, in executing different business contracts: distribution, agency, supply, warehouse establishment agreements, etc.

    • Participated in advising Viasat AS

      Participated in advising Viasat AS, a unit of Viasat Broadcasting, the major free and pay television operator in Scandinavia and the Baltic States, in cross border satellite transition, in relations with consumers regarding cross-border satellite broadcasting, also advising on issues on cross-border neighboring rights protection.

    • Defended nutrition supplements manufacturer

      Successfully defended UNIVERSAL PROTEIN SUPPLEMENTS CORPORATION, a nutrition supplements manufacturer, in cancellation of a competing trademark that was similar to the client’s reputed trademark ANIMAL. The case required collecting evidence back from 1997. Both the court of the first instance and the court of appeal upheld the client’s position and canceled a similar trademark.

    • Represented the Lithuanian Government

      Represented the Lithuanian Government, in co-counsel with law firm Mannheimer Swartling, in a large-scale case against Russia’s gas giant Gazprom before the Supreme Court of Lithuania, where the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Lithuania, as a minor shareholder of Lietuvos dujos, requested the court to initiate the investigation (probing) of Lietuvos dujos operations in order to evaluate the decisions of its management bodies in relation to gas pricing policy.

    • Represented the Lithuanian Government

      Represented the Lithuanian Government, in co-counsel with law firm Shearman & Sterling (Paris office), in a large-scale arbitration case against Russia’s gas giant Gazprom before the International Court of Arbitration of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC). This case was initiated by Gazprom against the Republic of Lithuania in connection with an investment dispute on tariffs of the Kaunas Combined Heat and Power Plant.

    • Represented the Lithuanian Government

      Represented the Lithuanian Government, in co-counsel with law firm Shearman & Sterling (Paris office), in a large-scale arbitration case against Russia’s gas giant Gazprom before the Permanent Court of Arbitration under the UNCITRAL Arbitration Rules. This case was initiated by Gazprom against the Republic of Lithuania in relation to its plans to split the gas sales and transmission ownership of Lietuvos dujos as part of the Europe Union’s drive to force dominant energy companies to improve access for competitors.

    • Represented the Lithuanian Government

      Represented the Lithuanian Government, in co-counsel with law firm Shearman & Sterling (Paris office), in a large-scale arbitration case against Russia’s gas giant Gazprom before the Arbitration Institute of the Stockholm Chamber of Commerce (SCC). This case was initiated by the Republic of Lithuania against Gazprom (claimed amount: over EUR 1.5 billion) for applying unjustified gas tariffs when supplying gas to Lithuania due to changes in the gas price formula that were made in violation of the terms of the agreement on the privatization of the national gas company Lietuvos dujos.

      Successfully represented one of the biggest food manufacturers in the world in an arbitration case heard by the Vilnius Court of Commercial Arbitration concerning the acquisition of inadequate equipment and compensation for damages.

    • Represented supermarket management company

      Successfully represented a supermarket management company in an arbitration case heard by the Vilnius Court of Commercial Arbitration concerning sold defective real estate and an insurance company’s obligation to compensate for damages.

    • Representing the Lithuanian Government

      Representing the Lithuanian Government, in co-counsel with law firm Shearman & Sterling (Paris office), in the arbitration proceedings pending before the International Centre for Settlement of Investment Disputes in Washington (ICSID) in accordance with the statement of claim filed by the claimant Veolia Environnement S.A. et alli against the Republic of Lithuania.

    • Representing UAB Philip Morris Baltic brand IQOS

      Representing UAB Philip Morris Baltic in an administrative dispute with regard to IQOS electronic device advertising. The case is unique because the question of whether tobacco regulation is applicable to electronic devices and their advertising is raised for the first time.
