    Kedli Anvelt is an attorney-at-law with extensive experience in the field of dispute resolution. Kedli advises and represents clients in civil disputes, incl. bankruptcy and reorganisation proceedings, financial disputes and criminal proceedings related to economic offences, incl. proceedings of bankruptcy offences. Kedli has considerable practical experience in comprehensive and evidentially complex and precedent-setting court actions, which makes her a valued representative in even the most complex court cases.

    Kedli is also the firm’s specialist in insolvency law. She advises clients in all matters related to insolvency, incl. cross-border issues. She has years of experience in advising and representing trustees in bankruptcy and creditors in various insolvency matters, incl. initiation of proceedings, solving issues arising during the conducting of bankruptcy proceedings, ascertaining possibilities for filing claims and court actions (incl. concerning recognition of claims, recovery of property to bankruptcy estate and exclusion of property from bankruptcy estate). In addition, Kedli has wide experience in providing consultation on refinancing and restructuring.

    Kedli also participates in the work of the bodies of bankruptcy proceedings. She is head of the bankruptcy committee in the first-ever and precedent-setting bankruptcy proceeding of a management company GA Fund Management (bankrupt) in Estonia, which has led to the reviewing and amendment of the Estonian Investment Funds Act with regard to the provisions concerning the liquidation of venture capital funds.

    Kedli also has experience in preparing legal opinions in very complex issues concerning insolvency law regarding which there is no explicit regulation in legal acts, and in cases concerning insolvency law and other fields of law where a conflict between several different fields of law and their principles has arisen.

    In addition, Kedli advises clients in the field of capital markets, primarily on the subject of banking, provision of investment services and insurance. She has also conducted trainings on insolvency law and published articles. Kedli is a member of INSOL Europe.

      On 31 March 2023, Harju County Court dismissed the claim submitted by the bankruptcy administrator of AS Saaremaa Laevakompanii (SLK) (bankrupt) and Väinamere Liinid OÜ against the subsidiaries of Port of Tallinn.

      Court closed proceedings in ex-minister Mart Opmann’s criminal case

      The firm’s white-collar crime team, led by attorney-at-law Marko Kairjak, successfully represented Estonia’s former Minister of Finance Mart Opmann in a criminal case, achieving the termination of proceedings due to the expiry of the limitation period.

    • Advising Luminor in MRP Ärigrupp’s bankruptcy proceedings and disputes

      Advising the leading independent main financial services provider in the Baltics, Luminor (DNB Bank Estonian branch), in MRP Ärigrupp’s bankruptcy proceedings and disputes.

    • Representing Citadele Leasing in complex leasing contracts and litigation regarding the recovery of assets

      Representing Citadele Leasing, a company belonging to a large financial group in the Baltic States, in complex leasing contracts and litigation regarding the recovery of assets.

    • Representing Eesti Maapank in claims against the former Board of Directors

      Representing Eesti Maapank in claims against the former Board of Directors regarding disadvantageous securities transactions in Bank SNORAS (a Lithuanian private bank). The claims amount to EUR 3.5 million.

    • Representing Swedbank in insolvency disputes

      Representing Swedbank as a third party in the Alberta Trade vs. Buruktal Nickel Plant insolvency disputes and related commercial dispute in the Court of St Petersburg and Leningrad Oblast (Russia). The case concerned the question of ownership of precious metals with a value of 19.5 million dollars. Swedbank won in all court instances.

    • Representing Port of Tallinn against its former directors

      Representing SOE Port of Tallinn and its subsidiary TS Laevad against its former directors – Ain Kaljurand and Allan Kiil – who were detained in 2015, in one on the most high-profile criminal cases in recent years. The former directors are charged with large-scale corruption and money laundering. The firm represents clients concerning the clients’ civil claim against its former directors. The civil claim will be decided within criminal proceedings.

      Representing high-net worth individual and railway magnate Marcel Vichmann via its entity Best Idea against foodstuffs businessman Oliver Kruuda and his company Rubla in a dispute over 15 MEUR.

    • Advising and representing major creditors of the GILD Arbitrage hedge fund

      Advising and representing major creditors of the GILD Arbitrage hedge fund, in the first ever bankruptcy proceeding of a fund manager, GA Fund Management (bankrupt), which created a judicial precedent and led to the review and amendment of provisions concerning the liquidation of hedge funds in the Investment Funds Act.

    • Representing the bankruptcy trustee of Werol Tehased against Pere and Werol’s former board of directors

      Representing the bankruptcy trustee of Werol Tehased (bankrupt) against Pere (bankrupt) and Werol’s former board of directors in recovering EUR 4.36 million that the board of directors groundlessly transferred to the parent company of Pere.

    • Representing TS Laevad and TS Shipping in a 24 MEUR claim

      Representing TS Laevad and TS Shipping against Saaremaa Shipping Company and Väinamere Liinid in a 24 MEUR claim.
