    Lina Darulienė is a Partner, Head of the Retail and Wholesale industry group at TGS Baltic. Lina has over 20 years of legal work experience in the area of competition law and resolving civil and administrative disputes. Lina advises clients on competition law issues and participates in high profile competition law cases and civil and administrative cases of other nature.

    Lina provides consultations and represents the law firm’s clients in investigations carried out by the European Commission and the Competition Council of the Republic of Lithuania regarding prohibited restrictive agreements, abuse of a dominant position, State aid and other matters.

    Working with the law firm, Lina has advised Swedbank in acquiring Danske Bank personal banking business in Lithuania and Latvia on competition law issues, represented Viasat AS, Viasat World Limited at the investigation by the Competition Council regarding a possible infringement of competition law and in examining issues of legality of the Competition Council’s decision before Lithuanian administrative courts, represented DNB bankas before the Competition Council in investigating a possible infringement of competition law, represented clients in complex litigations regarding invalidation of transactions, indemnification of damage, validity of decisions or actions of public authorities.

    Lina is in charge of the service provision process of the Retail and Wholesale industry group, advising on civil, administrative and competition law issues and representing before the courts of the Republic of Lithuania and the Competition Council.

      TGS Baltic team is continuously and extensively assisting AS TV Play Baltics (the biggest satellite TV service provider in the Baltic States) in interactions with regulatory authorities (mostly the Lithuanian Radio and Television Commission). The matters include discussions with the authorities on the nature of cross-border satellite TV services and regulation based on the EU legal framework.

The claimant alleges that it overpaid the roaming charges in the amount of approx. EUR 0.4 million.

      TGS Baltic represented UAB Ecoservice, a waste management company, in the transaction with UAB ALGA on the acquisition of a controlling interest in UAB Marijampolės švara. After the closing, UAB Ecoservice has acquired 66.31% of the shares in UAB Marijampolės švara. The remaining shares are held by the Marijampolė Municipality and a natural person.

      TGS Baltic assisted MTG in launching innovative and modern video-on-demand service Viaplay. The launch was simultaneous in all the three Baltic States, a lot of coordination and team work was required in order to successfully meet the launch date and address all regulatory issues. It was the first of such type, subscription-based service in Lithuania, therefore a lot of issues had to be handled with regulatory authorities.

      Advised the Scandinavian financial group Swedbank on competition matters as the issues related to the acquisition of Danske Bank personal banking business in Lithuania and Latvia and the transfer of its services to Swedbank.

      Represented the major tobacco manufacturer in the Baltic States, UAB Philip Morris Baltic, in examining disputes with the Drug, Tobacco and Alcohol Control Department regarding the validity of decisions of the authority before administrative courts.

    • Represented Viasat AS, Viasat World Limited

      Represented Viasat AS, Viasat World Limited before the Competition Council in investigating a possible infringement of competition rules (abuse of a dominant position) when distributing and terminating the Viasat Sport Baltic channel and in examining the issues of the lawfulness of the Competition Council’s decision before Lithuanian administrative courts.

      Represented DNB Bank before the Competition Council in investigating a possible infringement of competition rules, related to the charging of interbank fees, and in adopting a decision on termination of the investigation in the absence of an infringement.

      Represented Daimler AG and Robert Bosch GmbH before the Competition Council in submitting a notification of an intended concentration and in obtaining a competition clearance for creating a joint venture.
