 The year 2015 was very successful for TGS Baltic. Our firm earned the highest ranking according to the overall performance in the Baltics in the client satisfaction survey organised by the international market research company TNS SIFO Prospera. The survey comprised an evaluation of law firms by 265 largest legal service acquirers.

The Lawyer, one of the most influential European law publications, awarded internationally recognised award to TGS Baltic for successful handling of the major transactions in the region.


TGS Baltic advised Swedbank on acquisition of Danske Bank personal banking business with MEUR 641 loan portfolio, assisted Fuchs Petrolub SE with MSEK 690 acquisition of Statoil Fuel & Retail Lubricants from Couche-Tard Luxembourg S.A.R.L, assisted BBG, Baltikums Bank and private individuals with sale of insurance company AAS Baltikums to Vienna Insurance Group, assisted Communicorp Group with sale of Radio SWH to Cinamon Holding, assisted Netherlands-based ACTA (holding of Kiwa and Shield Group International) with acquisition of Inspecta Group, assisted Coats plc, the world’s largest manufacturer and distributor of sewing thread and supplies, with sale of EMEA Crafts business to AURELIUS Group, advised Mezzanine Management on MEUR 23.3 investments into Mogo Finance, advised VRC Zasulauks on sale of multiple units rolling stock repair and maintenance business to Pasažieru vilciens and advised MCI.TechVentures on acquisition of control in Pigu.lt, the e-commerce leader in the Baltics, and indirectly in 220.lv.


TGS Baltic represented clients in more than 800 court cases with the total value of MEUR 380, including the Ministry of Finance, DnB, Reverta and Norvik in complex loss and debt recovery cases with the total exposure of more than MEUR 170.


TGS Baltic advisedLatvian electricity transmission system owner on the EU co-financing projects and state aid issues with the total investment value of MEUR 370, and Latvian electricity transmission system operator on cross-border flows and trade with electricity within the EU and with third countries.
