Partners Kadri Kallas and Sander Kärson lead the M&A department, one of the firm’s fastest growing departments that has recently advised LHV Pension Funds in investing into Lithuanian cable television and Internet services provider Cgates, Citypark Estonia in selling its company to Modus Group, Estonian ICT research and development company Cybernetica in selling its navigation systems business unit to a Canadian listed corporation Carmanah, AK Systems in selling its IT services business to Telia Estonia, the largest IT and telecom company in Estonia, and Avia Solutions Group in acquiring one of the Estonian largest tour operators GO Adventure.
Associate partner Peeter Viirsalu has been working in TGS Baltic since 2006. He is particularly focused on insolvency law and construction and real estate law. He is also an experienced litigation expert who has represented and advised clients in several civil law disputes that have shaped Estonian legal practice and raised public interest. He has also participated in the preparation of complex and extensive legal audits. Examples of such are the audit for Tallinn City Council analysing the episodes of the criminal case against the major of Tallinn, a large-scale legal audit for the management board of Eesti Energia analysing the liabilities of the management board regarding exceeding the originally planned budget for the Enefit280 shale oil plant construction and a legal analysis for the Supervisory Board of Port of Tallinn in the matter of constructing berth No 17 of the Muuga container terminal.
