Valentinas Mikelėnas is a well-known figure in dispute resolution, with both academic and practical expertise in Lithuanian civil law and international private law. Represents the interests of Nordea Bank Finland Plc. Lithuania Branch in judicial proceedings related to the provision of financial services. The majority of disputes stem from contract law (2009–present);

Represents Miesto Energija and Energijos Taupymo Centras in the first collective redress action proceedings in Lithuania (2015–present);

Represents TELE2 (one of the major Lithuanian telecommunications operators) in a series of claims filed against TELE2 by their former business partners (2015–present);

Represented one of the largest companies in the sector of orthopaedic technical products in a legal dispute against the Republic of Lithuania regarding the refusal to compensate the client for orthopaedic technical products issued by the company to patients (case re State liability) (2015);

Advised a private investor in a civil case regarding the obligation to perform certain actions and to compensate for the investments made (2014);

Represented the RIMI group of undertakings in a number of cases, including a case against one of the major construction companies regarding the award of damages exceeding the amount of LTL 350,000; represented the client’s interests concerning the sublease right of one of the trading centres in the complex arbitration proceedings and bankruptcy proceedings (2008–2012);

Provided a legal opinion in the arbitration case Luigiterzo Bosca v. Republic of Lithuania, where the decision of the State Property Fund on eliminating Luigiterzo Bosca from the negotiations for the conclusion of AB Alita Share Purchase Agreement was at issue (2011);

Provided a legal opinion in the arbitration case Privatisation Agency of the Republic of Serbia v. Įmonių Grupė Alita, AB, where the award of a penalty for breaching the Share Purchase Agreement was at issue;

Representation in the Vilnius Court of Commercial Arbitration between a Lithuanian company and a USA Company. A matter of dispute for engineering works (2007–2009);

Arbitration in several arbitration cases before the ICC international Court of Arbitration.
