Representing 24 Estonian municipalities in high-profile constitutional disputes against the Republic of Estonia concerning the lawfulness of the administrative reform, i.e. forced mergers of municipalities. The ruling of the Supreme Court enabled several municipalities to evade a forced merger, i.e. to remain independent municipalities.
Representing the Hiiu County Government and Ministry of Finance in administrative court in three disputes regarding spatial plans providing general conditions of establishing offshore wind farms.
Representing Swedbank as a third party in Alberta Trade vs. Buruktal Nickel Plant insolvency disputes and related commercial dispute in the Court of St Petersburg and Leningrad Oblast (Russia). The case concerned the question of ownership of precious metals with a value of 19.5 million dollars. Swedbank won in all court instances.
Representing Lietuvos Energija and its subsidiary Tuuleenergia in the process of legalising the wind turbines of Tamba.
Representing the largest passenger transport group in the Baltics, Tallink Group, in the Supreme Court and the European Commission concerning excise duties on packaging and potentially unlawful state aid arising from the packaging deposit act.
Representing the leading independent main financial services provider in the Baltics, Luminor (Nordea Bank Finland Plc Estonian branch), in the Supreme Court concerning the legality and constitutionality of permanent establishment and income taxation matters between the branch and the parent company. The matter concerned income taxation with a total value of 29 MEUR and tax claims amounting to 7.6 MEUR.
Advising renewable energy company Nelja Energia in drafting amendments and implementing provisions of planning and construction regulations regarding wind farms in the Parliament of Estonia.
